This is a non-profit master’s project. Neither party is compensated for the photoshoot or interview. All final photos will be given to you for use with crediting instructions if shared.

I am not a counselor or licensed therapist, so it's important for participants to have personal support systems in place. This is not therapy. Portrait and interview sessions can be emotionally challenging and may bring up vulnerable feelings. My goal is to ensure no one is left in a difficult emotional space without support. If your traumatic event has happened recently, I ask that you please give yourself a little more time to process before applying.

Our focus is on discussing healed scars, not unhealed wounds.

If you would like to bring a friend, partner, pet, or family member for emotional support, we can arrange for that! Please mention it during our initial discussion.

Please understand that not everyone will be selected for this project. If you are not chosen, it is not a reflection of the importance of your story or truth; the decision is based on various factors, including the limited scope of my capstone project.

You will be required to sign a project release form before participating.
